A Study of The Korean Women¢¥s Leukoantibodies Flee

Abstract
In 1952 Dausset and Nenna described a homologous antileukocyte antibody in the serum of a patient with agranulocytosis. On the other hand Mosehlin and Wagner reported the association of leuko-agglutination with pyramidon sensitization in human in the same year.
Andre, Payne and Dausset et al reported the leukocyte iso-antibodies subsequent to transfusion through their investigations.
The immune nature of lupus erythematosus, the occurence of leukocyte -antibodies in some instances of skin and tumor homografting have been the subject of recent investigation.
The occurrence of leuko-agglutinins in the sera of multiparous women were first demonstrated by Payne and confirmed by Van Rood et al.
The present experiment is designed to study the relation of leukocyte antibodies to certain multiparous state and to inquire whether multiparity plays and role in the leukopenia of the newborn.
Furthermore invivo effect of antileukocyte antibody was studied following injection¢¥ of human antileukocytic sera into animal, rabbits.
The meterials and methods used in this study contains sera of 303 korean parous women and of 13 nuligravidous women served as the control and umbilical cord blood of 153 new born babies.
For vivo effect 5 anti-sera with titer from 1 : 8 to 1 : 64 which were identified in this study and 5 case of normal sera as control were served.
The experiments of author were performed with the results as follow:
The titers of leukocyte iso-antibodies were found positive in the sera of multiparous women, as low as 1 : 4 to 1 : 8 (85%).
In 33 of 316 cases with positive leuko-agglutinating sera belonged almostly to the group that had had more than 7 pregnancies (91% )
The leukocyte iso-antibodies were demonstrated by author, the complete antibody utilizing leukoagglutinin test (33 cases of 316), and the incomplete leukocyte antibodies utilizing antiglobulin consumption technic (5 cases of 316)
As analogous to the anemia of erythroblastosis, the neonatal leukopenia was infrequently observed by other investigators. But the author experienced only one case of mild neonatal leukopenia with jaundice among 153 new born babies, delivered from the confirmed leukoagglutining mother.
Administration to rabbits of human serum without containing antileukocyte antibody led to leukocytosis which persisted until the 3rd- or 4th day, `and administration of human serum containing antileukocyte antibody showed little significant effect.
